BEAUTY. LIFE. STYLE.

CLEANSE. EXFOLIATE. MOISTURISE. REPEAT.

22.1.15

We love and hate it - that word 'skincare'. It's a chore, a boring task that only the committed can push through. I am one of the lazy ones. The girl who thinks that skipping one morning or night won't go amiss in the great scheme of things. But then that one night turns into twenty-four hours, which turns into forty-eight, and well... you get the picture.

Apart from removing my makeup - alongside having little time on my hands at university towards the end of last year - I broke my routine. In fact, it became non-existent. But I've missed my little Liz Earle gems and have to say after getting back into the swing of things, I don't know where I would be without them.

Liz Earle is a brand that, despite me and my skin not getting along a lot of the time, has stuck by me through thick and thin. For a long time I was a cult member of the Cleanse & Polish, but after running out a while ago I (*holds hands up in shame*) sort of forgot about it. Cleansing is one of the most important steps you can do to improve your skin. Cleanse & Polish (Rosemary, Chamomile, Cocoa Butter and Eucalyptus) is light, natural and smells absolutely wonderful, but most of all does the job perfectly. It stands in all its glory in centre stage in my cupboards.

The Skin Repair Moisturiser in Dry/Senstitive (Borage and Avocado oil, Echinacea, Beta-Carotene and Natural Vitamin E) is another long time favourite of mine, bought by my Mum for me as my first 'proper moisturiser' when I was a young teen and struggling with my skin. I ran out a few months back and have endured without it, but since haven't found anything that my skin drinks up better. Again, it smells amazing, and I find that a little goes such a long way. I also prefer it in a pot, because I can control what I use a lot better, and it's easier to put back if you have used too much.

The Gentle Face Exfoliator (Eucalyptus, Cocoa Butter and Fine Jojoba Beads) is a rather new one for me. I use it at least once a week and it's definitely one of the better exfoliators I have ever tried. It's good without being too drying or harsh, and would be especially perfect for those of us with sensitive skin.

The Eyebright and the Instant Boost Skin Tonic are also favourites that I like to use, both being refreshing and instantly radiate the skin, adding to a group of products which make you skin oh-so soft.

I have promised myself to make a commitment this year. Have you?

  1. I've never tried Liz Earle but I've heard amazing things. Hope these continue to work for you! I'm really good about washing my face in the evenings but now I'm committed to a light cleanse in the morning, too. It's a wake-me-up routine!

    1. It really is a fabulous brand, especially for those people who don't like to pile on the chemicals (natural is their motto!). I've finally managed to get into that routine now and the improvement in my skin is remarkable, I think it's just a matter of getting into it! xo
